News Mar - May 2010:
In April 2010,
as we were about to publish our new safari offer - the 2010 SPECIAL
Richtersveld & Namib Desert Bonanza
(see PDF files left) -, a "bomb" exploded in our offices:
Some major flaws in our tour price quoting software especially purchased for the
purpose were discovered and with it that all our safari prices from 3 pax
onwards were wrong. Worst of all, prices 2010 & 2011 were all vastly over-quoted
by the system without anyone having a clue as yet, why and how. The only proof
that something had gone terribly wrong was found by manually re-quoting all our
tours.
As our trade partners know what that entails, we hope for their understanding
that Newsletter #09 had to be delayed.
We started distributing it on 31 May 2010, providing everyone with the new, much
reduced tour prices 2010.
Tour prices 2011, as far as already published, are also wrong for the same
reasons - so
PLEASE CONTACT US for updates.
Re-quoted prices will be distributed in due course but
please note that we also decided to revamp some of the tours, mostly
regarding programme texts as well as meal & activity inclusions - there will be
less meals and more activities included in departures from November 2010 onwards
and thus safari prices will not only be more attractive but itineraries as well!
Guided Self-drive versions of our 2010 safaris will only be available 'on
request' for the remainder of this season.
We plan to publish likewise revised programmes from Nov. 2010 onwards, for the
2011 season.
News Oct 2009-Jan 2010:
With operations
running smoothly during the remainder of 2009, the Sasendle team used a 2-week
break over the holiday season to get creative. This resulted in the development
of yet another unusual safari programme -
Southern Namibia from/to CPT.
Again, guests may experience the routes less traveled while visiting Southern
Namibia's and North-western South Africa's natural and historical attractions,
from the Namib Desert into the Kalahari. With longer stays in the most
interesting areas and carrying between 2 to 4 passengers per vehicle, this
affordable tour is as suitable to small individual parties as it is for families.
News Jul-Sep 2009:
During the
safari season 2009, we further improved the seating on our vehicles by giving
the back row of passenger seats more space and installing headrests that can
double as cushions. We now have some of the most comfortable and best equipped
Land Rovers around without compromising on their off-road capabilities - true to
our aim to provide guests with the best in adventurous 4x4 safari experiences on
offer in Southern Africa.
Each
participant in our 'Cape to Namibia' safaris also receives a surprise gift at
the beginning of a tour: a high-quality cap for sun protection that is
embroidered with the SAT logo, the South African and Namibian flags, and our
motto 'One Life - Live It'.
Providing
safari guests with peanuts and sweets as well as still and sparkling mineral
water at no extra charge during overland drives are standard features of our
tours. Likewise, the daily cleaning of our vehicles and the provision of
conveniences such as tissues and small refuse bags.
News Jan 2009:
Over the
Christmas & New Year holiday season 2008/09, we undertook our 4th inspection
trip within 7 months to the Northern Cape and Namibia. Always on the lookout for
improvement opportunities, we wanted to check out further accommodation options
and routings that we felt might add value to our scheduled and tailor-made tour
offers.
As usual, our
most interesting findings and experiences on the road will be published in this
Sasendle On-line Guide, as featured items on the
Tour Highlights
and Travel Tips
pages.
Each such trip also leaves us with a significantly grown collection of great
photos, which we are pleased to make available to our tourism trade partners for
their promotions of our tours: Please contact
info@sasendle-adventures.com with your requirements.
The most explanatory images of exceptional sights and frequently visited places
find their way into our

Sasendle 4x4 Fleet
& Equipment
News Aug 2008:
We purchased
a 4th vehicle to meet the demand for our new Scheduled Tours, starting in February
2009. This fleet is the foundation of our custom-designed guided safaris into
different regions of Southern Africa and interesting 4x4 excursions in the
Western Cape region.
Our main focus are ‘cross-country’ Landrover Safaris
between Namibia and Cape Town. With a maximum of only 3 passengers per
vehicle (plus one child under 12 years), our safari guests are not only
ensured of ample seat space and photographic pleasures but our personal
attention and flexibility.
