Tour Highlights - Part 1: Kgalagadi National Park

Covering over 9 million acres, the park combines nature conservation areas in South Africa and Botswana. Arid savannah and sand desert form the core of its landscape. The red Kalahari with its haunting desert scenery is also rich in its diversity of game, bird, and insect species. Above all, the park is famous for its black-maned lions, cheetahs, and other predator species in abundance. Sparse vegetation, dry riverbeds and pristine dune country show off its fauna and flora at its premium and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

More info available at www.sanparks.org/parks/kgalagadi/

Sasendle is one of the first tour operators to offer a combined cross-country experience of both South Africa and Namibia, by operating comprehensive safaris that span spectacular highlights of these two neighbouring countries.

These tours are available either on a per-seat basis, with fixed monthly departures, or on request as per date and service preferences of customers (subject to availability).

Min. of 2 participants required per departure/max. 3 adults per vehicle (4 guests = 2 vehicles).

A family of four, 2 adults & 2 children under 12, may travel in one vehicle. Family rooms can be requested in most places.

"Cape - Namibia"

starts in Cape Town and leads along the South African West Coast into the northern Karoo and Namaqualand. Sightseeing will concentrate on Namaqualand Daisies, in the flower season.
SAT's innovative incorporation of the remote mountainous Richtersveld Transfrontier Park allows crossing the Orange River into Namibia inside the park, by pont, at the Sendlingsdrift border post.
The route then follows the Fish River Canyon into the Succulent Karoo to its west, and further north along the Namib Naukluft Park to the highest desert dunes on earth at Sossusvlei.
Swakopmund and the central coast of Namibia are explored, prior to visiting pre-historic rock art sites in the Erongo Mountains.
The tour terminates upon arrival in Windhoek.

"Namibia-Kalahari-Cape"

departs in Windhoek, Namibia.

The tour starts off with opportunities for interacting with the San (Bushmen) and game viewing in Namibia's eastern Omaheke Region.

After travelling south through the quaint Kalahari farmlands along the ephemeral Nossob and Auob Rivers, the tour enters the Kgalagadi National Park at the Mata Mata Gate, which doubles as border post to South Africa.

The park counts amongst the top wildlife sanctuaries in Southern Africa and provides basic bungalow accommodation in rest camps.

See our featured Tour Highlight.

Traversing the Northern & Western Cape Provinces, the tour takes in such diverse attractions as the Augrabies Falls, the geologically fascinating Great Karoo, the scenic Vanrhynspass and historic villages. The tour ends in Cape Town.

Pre-/post-tour nights & airport transfers are optional extras - select individual flight and add-on services.

SASENDLE - Code of Conduct

The company name comes from the Zulu word "sasendle", meaning "wild" or "the wilderness". Sasendle Adventures act on their belief that nature must be left undisturbed following the motto:

Tread lightly, as slow as possible and as fast as necessary, and take out what you took in!

Sasendle's 4x4 Club Activities

Sasendle Adventure Tours is an active member of the AWDC and other 4x4 Clubs in South Africa, for the past 10 years. On various occasions, Sasendle has been involved in developing new 4x4 trails with emphasis on ecological and environmental subjects. Off-road tours into these wild areas are usually camping trips where limited or no facilities are available but where a fascinating learning experience of natural habitats, fauna and flora awaits the visitor. Most of the 4-5 code rated trails are in the Northern &Western Cape of South Africa.

Sasendle organises catered weekend/full day outings on such trails on  request - on short notice & incl. 4x4 Driving Training.

Company Introduction ... continued

True to the core of their company philosophy, the Sasendle team strives to afford their customers close encounters with Southern Africa's most spectacular destinations - often lesser known and only accessible, if travelling off the beaten track, in remote areas.

These safaris appeal to adventurous spirits wishing to explore Africa's natural treasures in comfort.

Sasendle follows the call of the wilderness and its creatures, of the wide open spaces, of places where silence becomes tangible, where the human soul and senses can rejuvenate, and provides insights into the sub-continent's colourful history and the diverse ethnic cultures of its inhabitants.

Sasendle's goal?

Conveying Southern Africa's unique spirit and atmosphere next to its ultimate attractions during skin-deep, unforgettable safari experiences that will entice guests to return time and again.
